چکیده
Purpose of review Conventional wisdom maintains that multiple aspects of surgical technique and management may affect postoperative outcome, while anaesthetic technique has little long-term effect on patient outcomes. There is accumulating evidence that, on the contrary, anaesthetic management may in fact exert a number of longer-term effects in postoperative outcome. Here, we review the most topical aspects of anaesthetic management which may potentially influence later postoperative outcomes.

متن کاملWound Healing and Anti-Rheumatic Agents
Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are often on multiple medications to control disease activity and these medications may have significant toxicities, including effects on wound healing. Wound ...
متن کاملThe impact of nonwound site infection on surgical wound healing
Wound healing is the result of a complex synergistic series of biomolecular activity that can be altered by numerous factors. One such factor is infection. If the infection occurs at the surgical site, it is clear that the normal process is destroyed, interrupted or at best retarded. However, little is known of the effects of nonwound site infection on the healing process. This review evaluates...

NPIMS placed directly after closure of the surgical wound is thoug...
